Jimmie D. Bain, 76, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 6:45 A.M. November 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born January 2, 1942 in Mount Vernon to the late Floyd and Gussie (McKee) Bain. Jimmie married Jeannie (Keip) Bain in June 1967 at Lebanon Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Jimmie is survived by his children, Sandy Sinnett and Jimmie G. Bain and wife, Sonya, all of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Jesse Sinnett, Wyatt Sinnett, Emily Sinnett, Ethan Sinnett, Sarena Schrum, and Autumn Bain; sister, Rebecca Ayers and husband, Delbert of Collinsville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Bain and Thomas Bain.
Jimmie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a boilermaker for many years. Jimmie was a member of the Boilermaker Local #363. He loved the Lord and was a member of East Salem Baptist Church. Jimmie enjoyed coon hunting and dancing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Jimmie was a devoted father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, December 3, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at Hughey Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Hayes officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Full Military Honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post #141
